On Tuesday there was a birth at the O'Neil Dairy Farm of a baby jersey calf named "Pumba" and, yes, it is a girl. Megan plans on working with Pumba along with Bittersweet for the fair next year in case Bittersweet doesn't calf by fair time. It is so small that Megan can pick it up.

Max's Moment -- 9/16/07
Click this link to see a series of pictures that show Max's 80+ yard touchdown (the field's only 80 yards). This was his 2nd touchdown of the game. His team had the football because 2 plays prior to this he had saved a touchdown by recovering a fumble.

A Day at the Fair
The last 2 years Megan has been working with a Jersey from the local dairy farm -- The O'Neil Farm -- to learn about dairy farms as well as show at the Marshfield Fair. Megan had 2 shows and placed very high and won a good amount of prize money in both of them. This was her first year as a junior where they compete against kids that have more experience. It was amazing the amount of work, most of it dirty and sweaty, that Megan puts forth for this fair. Most of the work is keeping the stalls clean for about 12 cows from 7:30am to 7:00 pm at night and she even helped out in the other barn with the beef cattle. She also was able to take home additional money for exhibits she performed for fairgoers which required her to explain things to people about how she works with the cattle. Now the kids are busy cleaning and preparing the Dairy Farm for Farm Day on Saturday. See the link "A Day at the Fair" for an article about the fair and a picture that was published of Megan and Bittersweet.

Football Cheers

Sunday we had fun cheering Max who ran about 80 yds (on a 80 yd field) for a touchdown. He is enjoying his first year playing Pop Warner football and we are having fun watching him excel. The picture was taken during a different run 2 weeks ago by a photographer. You can see various other photos of Max by selecting the link "Max's Football Pictures" and going to General Sports and Max's team is PopW white mm 9-3.
